Heather Hughes, NP-C

Heather Hughes is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Heights Dermatology in 2024 in Mansfield. She grew up in Grand Prairie in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and attended South Grand Prairie High School. In 2012, Heather graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After several years of working as a bedside nurse, Heather decided to pursue her master’s degree. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas in 2020.

Heather’s background in nursing prior to her role as a nurse practitioner includes almost 8 years as a medical assistant in dermatology. It also includes almost 8 years in bedside nursing specializing in palliative and hospice at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth. She spent 3 ½ years working as a nurse practitioner at another dermatology practice where her biggest focus was prevention. She is currently a member of Texas Nurse Practitioners, Dermatology Nurse’s Association for Nurse Practitioners, and the Elite Nurse Practitioner.

Heather enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. She loves spending time with her shih-tzus, Bentley and Riley. She also loves to listen to music and travel when she can.
